Biography
Dr. Bill Kelly is the Medical Director and founder of
HEALTH SCAN IMAGING.
His professional career includes 20 years
of combined academic, research and clinical experience
with CT and MRI.
He completed two years of subspecialty fellowship
training in CT and MRI at the University of California,
San Francisco.
Dr. Kelly is a distinguished graduate of the United
States Air Force Academy.
He completed his medical school training
at Tulane University in New Orleans where he graduated
with honors. He
is Board-Certified by the American College of Radiology
with subspecialty board certification in neuroradiology.
Dr. Kelly is author of the medical text book on CT and
MRI of skull base imaging and cranial neuropathy. He has also published over 50 articles on CT, MRI and MRA in the
medical literature.
He has been a frequent guest lecturer at
international symposia on CT and MRI and he has
frequently participated as a faculty member at continuing
medical education courses for physicians.
While in northern California, Dr. Kelly founded North
Bay MRI tutorials, a visiting fellowship program
for radiologists seeking advanced training in MRI.
Also, as a Clinical Associate Professor of
Radiology at the University of California, San Francisco,
he has contributed toward the fellowship training
of many radiologists.
Prior to developing HEALTH SCAN IMAGING, Dr. Kelly served
as Chairman of Radiology at Eisenhower Medical Center,
additionally serving as Director of MRI.
Dr. Kelly is also the founder and Medical
Director of Truly Open MRI, the first Coachella
Valley Open MRI to utilize high field strength gradient
magnets.
Dr. Kelly’s current practice focuses on high resolution
3 Dimensional CT and MRI of the brain, spine, blood
vessels, joints, chest and abdomen.
Dr. Kelly considers his most important talents to
lie in the area of communication skills.
He is equally comfortable discussing details
of physics with equipment manufacturers as he is
explaining the significance of CT scan findings
to a patient, in layman’s terms that can be easily
and clearly understood.
